Full Review

If you're willing to spend up to $1000 on a treadmill for your home, you're going to get a lot more machine than you'll find in our under $500 category. It comes with the basics:

  • Tethered safety key
  • Wheels for easy movement
  • Folds easily in half for space saving
  • LCD display

One of the drawbacks on these machines compared to the under $500 category is that they require more assembly. We've included a video below for how to put together the LifeSpan TR1200i under the assembly heading.

Speed

The TR 1200i goes from 0.5-11 mph.

Programs

This model has 21 training programs:

  • 2 heart rate control
  • 5 healthy living
  • 7 sports
  • 5 weight loss
  • 2 user set up programs

Shock Absorbers

If you suffer from joint pain while running or walking, this could be the most important feature for you. The shock absorbers in the deck will reduce the impact on your knees, hips, and other joints significantly.

Tablet and Phone Space

There's space on the console to hold a tablet, phone, book, or magazine.

Motor

The 2.5 HP motor will handle longer periods of jogging or running, as opposed to units with a less powerful motor.

Assembly

Though not difficult, assembly will take significantly longer than with cheaper models. Here's a short video where to walk you through the assembly step-by-step:

Dimensions

  • Unfolded: 70.25" L x 33" W x 55" H
  • Folded: 39" L x 33" W x 63" H

Weight Capacity

The TR1200i can accommodate users up to 300 lbs.

Quiet

We found the TR1200i to be very quiet.

If you're concerned about bothering people in other rooms or in an apartment below you, you may want to look into shock-absorbing pads that go underneath the treadmill, such as the Wondermat.

Incline

To add more resistance in your workouts, you can change the incline up to 10% with the press of a button.

Belt

The belt is 56" long and 20" wide, which is a good size for jogging and running.

Console

The console has the basics: program, time, calories, distance, heart rate, and incline level, as well as quick start, up/down speed and up/down incline buttons. There are also speakers and headphone jacks.

What's different is that it also uses Intellistep™, which counts your steps.

There's also a USB connection  where you can download your data from your workouts and upload it to your free LifeSpan Club account.

Safety Rails

The safety rails have up/down for speed buttons on the right arm, and on the left the up/down buttons control the incline.

The side rails are very stable as the frame is made of steel.

Intellistep™

The treadmill will automatically turn off when you step off of the treadmill - a great safety feature.

Raising & Lowering

Lifting the deck is easy, then you can roll it wherever you want. When you lower the deck, push the deck up lightly, push the bar lightly with your foot, then step back and the deck will slowly lower on its own.

Warranty

Lifetime on the frame and motor, 3 years on parts, and 1 year on labor. A solid warranty. There's also a 30-day money back guarantee.
