About

We Are Made to Move

A sedentary lifestyle is one of the contributing factors to two of the top three causes of death in the U.S. (heart disease and cancer). It has also been linked to type 2 diabetes, a shorter life span, and chronic back pain.

There are two things that we're passionate about. The first is to educate the world about the dangers of extended periods of sitting and a sedentary lifestyle. The second is to help people find simple ways to add movement into their life both indoors and out.

Our Team

One of the founders, Ryan, started suffering from severe, intermittent back pain after a martial arts training injury in 2007. As a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school owner and instructor, the back pain limited him in his business and personally.

In 2015, he started researching the causes of his back pain, and in the process, talked to dozens of chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and other experts. Six months after he began his in-depth research, his back pain was gone, and he was sold on the power of a movement-based lifestyle.

He then worked with Dr. RJ Burr to assemble a team to help spread the word about simple things that people can do to greatly improve their quality of life. They continue to add experts in the fields of ergonomics, exercise science, chiropractic care, physical therapy, and other industry leaders to give readers the most comprehensive and up-to-date strategies and information to live an active, pain-free lifestyle.
